Wyre Forest is hard to beat round here; it’s one of the biggest ancient woodlands in England and full of things to do whether you’re walking, biking, picnicking or just after a good stick-collecting session.
🚴♂️ Blue Family Bike Trail
This is the trail we did and it's brilliant for families! It’s a gentle, waymarked loop that winds through the trees, suitable for confident young riders and adults alike. Smooth enough for kids but still fun, with just the right amount of adventure. Just beware that the final stretch is uphill so if you're with a bike that has no gears (like we were 😩) then it can be a bit of a slog for a good mile.
🛝 Other Highlights
Play area near the café – A great spot for a pit stop, with climbing frames, swings, and benches
Stick Man Trail – A themed trail based on the Julia Donaldson book, with activities and characters along the way
Go Ape – For older kids or brave adults, there’s a treetop ropes course with zip lines (not included in entry)
☕ Facilities
Wyre Forest Café – Really decent coffee, hot food, cakes and ice creams
Toilets & baby change – Right by the café and main car park
Picnic areas – Scattered throughout the site if you bring your own
This forest is also a designated nature reserve, home to butterflies, woodpeckers, and more. The paths are flat-ish and well maintained and you might even spot a deer if you’re quiet enough!
