From Ortsei, you can easily get to Seceda by taking the convenient Seceda cable car.

When you get to the top station of the Seceda cable car, you step out onto this amazing panoramic terrace with views that honestly feel unreal. You can see so many peaks all around, and it's one of the best views in Val Gardena.

To reach the famous Geisler Peaks viewpoint, you just need to hike a little further, around 15 to 20 minutes. You will spot a cross at the top, and once you're there, the views are incredible. You can move around to see different angles, but just be careful. There is a big drop on the left side. Some parts have a fence, but not everywhere, and I’ve seen people get way too close to the edge for a photo. It is not worth the risk.

Hiking:

If you prefer hiking up from Ortisei, you can start directly from town or from the parking at the Seceda Gondola. It takes about 3 - 4 hours to reach the top, depending on your pace. On the way back, follow the ski piste or service road; it’ll take you all the way down to Ortisei. The primary trail you'll follow is Trail No. 6. This well-marked path begins near the Seceda cable car valley station and leads you through forests and alpine meadows up to the Seceda summit.

If you want to hike up to Seceda, a great option is starting from Santa Cristina, at the Cristauta Praplan parking lot. From there, it takes about 3 hours to reach the top. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views the whole way. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a quieter and (in my opinion) more scenic route!

Another option is to take the Col Raiser gondola and hike from there. You’ll cut about an hour of hiking, and the path is just as beautiful with slightly less elevation gain.
