The Gornergrat Railway (Gornergrat Bahn) is Zermatt’s classic panoramic cogwheel train climbing to the 3,089 m Gornergrat ridge for grandstand Matterhorn and glacier views. In about 30 minutes, it rises past forests and meadows with scenic stops at Riffelalp, Riffelberg, and Rotenboden (path to the mirror-like Riffelsee).
