Saksun is a tiny, turf-roofed village overlooking a tidal lagoon that fills with seawater twice a day.

Take a few minutes to see the small white church and the historic Dúvugarðar farm, then head out for the walk to the sea. At low tide, you can walk along the edge of the lagoon all the way to a black sand beach. It takes about 15–20 minutes from the village car park and is one of the most unique little walks in the Faroe Islands.

Just make sure to check tide times before you go—the path disappears when the water comes back in.
