Tokyo Skytree is a popular landmark in Tokyo, Japan, known for its breathtaking views of the city. Standing at 634 meters tall, it offers you the chance to view the city from up there.

Take the Subway to Harajuku.

From there you are gonna walk to reach those 20'000 steps, for the rest of the stops.

Fashion neighborhood in Tokyo

Harajuku is a vibrant neighborhood in Tokyo known for its trendy fashion, unique shops, and youthful energy. From the famous Takeshita Street packed with quirky boutiques to the upscale stores along Omotesando Avenue, there's something for everyone in this bustling area. We especially liked the Harajuku St itself as it is a vibrant street with lots of vintage shops.

Don't forget to visit the iconic Meiji Shrine and explore the lush greenery of Yoyogi Park while you're there. Whether you're into shopping, culture, or just soaking up the lively atmosphere, Harajuku has it all!

Takeshita Street in Harajuku is a vibrant and quirky shopping destination where Japan's youth culture thrives. From trendy fashion boutiques to colorful crepe stands and animal cafes, this pedestrian street offers a sensory overload of food and fashion.
Prepare for it to be busy, it was the busiest road we visited in all of Tokyo.

These ornamental barrels, donated by sake breweries from across the country, offer a beautiful display of cultural significance and spiritual connection.
We stumbled across them by accident & it was a great way to start into the Sake history.

Meiji-Schrein

Peaceful oasis in bustling Tokyo

Dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, this shrine offers a peaceful escape with its forested surroundings and traditional Shinto activities like making offerings and writing wishes on ema.
Take your time wandering around & taking in the peaceful surroundings of the shrine. It is a nice break from the busy city.

Flavorful dry ramen in Tokyo

Tokyo Aburagumi Sohonten Shibuya is a popular spot in Tokyo known for its delicious dry ramen, also known as abura soba. The dish may look simple at first glance, but once you mix it up and take that first slurp, the savory umami flavor hits you right in the taste buds. With a focus on high-quality noodles and a secret tare sauce recipe.
This was our first noodle dish in Tokyo and we might be biased but we kept talking about it the whole trip as it was literally SO GOOD.
An absolute recommendation! There's various locations around Tokyo.

It's a bit further out & if you have enough time definitely worth a visit.

Magical Ghibli-themed museum experience

The Ghibli Museum in Mitaka is a magical place where fans of Studio Ghibli can immerse themselves in the enchanting world of Hayao Miyazaki's films.
Tickets become available for purchase at 10 a.m. (JST) on the 10th of each month for the subsequent month. They do sell out so definitely put it in your calendar!

Shimokitazawa, also known as "Shimokita," is Tokyo's laid-back bohemian district just a hop away from Shibuya and Shinjuku. This cool corner of the city is a haven for vintage clothing stores, quirky bookshops, and funky cafes and bars. With its relaxed vibe and unique charm, Shimokitazawa is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon browsing for rare finds and enjoying a chilled-out evening sipping drinks in cozy establishments.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

Observation decks with stunning views

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku is a popular spot to catch some awesome views of Tokyo for free. With two observation decks at 202 meters high, visitors can snap pics of iconic landmarks like Mount Fuji and the Tokyo Skytree.

Just be aware there could be a line so if you plan to go for sunset plan ahead. Our line was about 30-45min & we just missed the sunset. But it was amazing to see the city light up as it got darker.

Spend the evening in Shinjuku where you got two options for dinner either the busy Omoide Yokocho or a unique dining experience in Ichiran Nishi-Shinjuku.

Home to Japan's busiest railway station, Shinjuku Station, this area is packed with skyscrapers, department stores, and a lively nightlife. From the red light district of Kabukicho to the cozy alleyways of Golden Gai, there's something for everyone in Shinjuku.

A destination you want to arrive at later in the day to see it all lit up with the billboards & lights.

The restaurant specializes in tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen, which is rich and flavorful. They have more locations around Tokyo & even Japan pick the one that fits you best I am sure they are all delicious!

Ueno Park in Tokyo is a massive public park that used to be part of a grand temple complex. Now it's home to museums, shrines & pagodas, a zoo, and beautiful cherry blossoms in the spring. We really enjoyed strolling around & sitting down with the locals having a snack. Or grab a couple of local beers & taste them while people watching. (That's what we did ツ) .

Vibrant market street in Tokyo

Ameyoko, short for "Ameya Yokocho," is a bustling market street in Tokyo located between Okachimachi and Ueno stations. Originally known for selling candies, it now offers a variety of products like clothes, bags, cosmetics, fresh fish, dried food, and spices.

After a quick lunch here jump on a train towards your next destination.

The next two stops I'd probably uber or take the local bus up to you.

Hie Shrine, located in central Tokyo, is a sacred Shinto shrine. Established in 1478, the shrine is dedicated to the deity of Mount Hiei and offers a peaceful oasis in the bustling city. The shrine itself is beautiful & so are the Tori gates.

Definitely look up what Tori gates stand for & visiting the different shrines & stepping through the gates will feel extra special.

Akihabara, also known as Akiba, is a buzzing district in central Tokyo that's like a paradise for tech geeks and anime fans. It's packed with hundreds of electronics shops selling everything from the latest gadgets to retro video games, alongside stores filled with anime, manga, and collectibles. You can also find quirky maid cafes & fun game arcades. Definitely recommend checking out one of these for sure. We loved Dance Revolution.

We loved the Dance Revolution, it's an actual work out if you get really into it.

The restaurant serves the noodles and soup separately, allowing you to dip the noodles into the rich and flavorful broth. You order from a vending machine & look into the kitchen such a fun experience. & so delicious! We would go back in a heartbeat.
