Zpráva od Lusideias

Parque Eduardo VII ("Edward VII Park"), once called Parque da Liberdade ("Liverty Park"), is one of the most photographed and publicized places in the Portuguese capital. This amazing green space certainly contributed to Lisbon being considered the Green Capital of Europe in 2020.

Its garden is impressively symmetrical and leads visitors to contemplate the monuments and national symbols of Portugal that are displayed at the top of the park.

85% of Lisbon's residents live less than 300 meters from any green area and the Portuguese capital exceeds by three times the minimum recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) in terms of its territory occupied by trees and plants.

Our recommended next step from here is to walk all the way down Avenida da Liberdade ("Liberty Avenue"), passing by the statue of Marques de Pombal ("Marquee of Pombal"), toward Praça dos Restauradores ("Restauradores Square") and Praça do Rossio ("Rossio Square") in the downtown area.

Also, within Parque Eduardo VII, at its upper left side, don't forget to check Estufa Fria ("Cold Greenhouse"), a garden measuring 3.7 acres divided into three parts. We have a separate 'thing to do' in our guide covering this attraction.
