Ilha Grande is a tropical island off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. It is a beautiful area, completely car-free!

This is a great idea for a weekend trip from Rio. To get here, you will need to get a boat transfer from the mainland. There are a lot of things to do on the island, including boat trips, hiking, beach days, snorkeling, etc.

I recommend spending at least 3-4 days on the island to really enjoy it. Honestly, you could stay even longer if you have the time because there is a lot to do around here.
