For a truly wild and secluded beach experience, make your way to Praia do Lombo Gordo. You'll find a stunning stretch of black sand tucked beneath dramatic green cliffs, a real hidden gem.

Reaching it is part of the adventure, involving a steep and narrow drive down to the car park. From there, a walk of about 10 minutes, including a descent down a considerable flight of stairs, leads you to the tranquil shore.

This beach is one of the most secret beaches in the island, so you will probrably be the only one tourist there. Well, that's an unique find. ;)

WARNING: It is an unguarded beach, so make sure to be safe!

My tips:

- After you reach the parking spot, you will need to walk down some bridges and staircases, as you can see in the photograph.

- Make sure to visit this beach in the morning, because due to the mountain behind the beach, from around 3PM, the sun will set behind the mountain and there will be shade.
