Pico Ruivo do Paul (Paul da Serra) – Secret Sunrise Spot

If you’ve done sunrise at Pico do Areeiro and Pico Ruivo and want something wilder – this is it. Pico Ruivo do Paul sits on the western end of Madeira’s central massif, overlooking the endless plateau of Paul da Serra on one side and the jagged peaks of the east on the other.

At sunrise, clouds often pool below the plateau, creating that insane ‘cloud ocean’ effect – but without the crowds you find at Areeiro. The light here is softer, the silence deeper, and it feels like you’ve got the whole mountain range to yourself.
