A must visit Tassie gem, this is a great spot for a dip.
Boat Harbour Beach is a long, white-sand stretch on Tasmania's northwest coast that works well for families, long walks and beginner surfing. You can park close to the beach and services are nearby, with a caravan park and a seasonal cafe so basic toilets and picnic spots are usually available. The water can be calm in the sheltered areas but will pick up a good swell at times; rips form near the ends, so swim between flags when lifeguards are on duty or keep kids in shallow water. It gets windy and the water stays cool year round, so bring warm layers and a wetsuit if you plan to surf, and aim for early mornings for calmer conditions and fewer people.
