Zpráva od Gemma, Off Track Travel

Highway 1 ascends and descends the 356-meter peak of Malahat Mountain. Named after the local First Nation community, the Malahat is regarded as one of the most sacred sites on southern Vancouver Island.

For drivers, the Malahat portion of the highway offers a winding, steep 25km route that traverses rugged mountainsides, dense forests, and steep cliffs. There are two viewspoints offering stunning views of the Salish Sea (accessibly only when driving north).
To see more, consider a trip to the Malahat SkyWalk. This attraction boasts an elevated treetop boardwalk, 32m tall observation tower and slide.
