The Goldi Trail at Klewenalp is one of the best family-friendly hikes near Lucerne and such a fun mountain day with younger kids.
It's an interactive trail that winds through alpine meadows with beautiful Lake Lucerne views, following the story of “Goldi” the dragon with puzzle stations, activities, and little challenges along the route.

How to Get There
Take a boat across Lake Lucerne to Beckenried, or drive to the Beckenried-Klewenalp cable car station.

Ride the cable car up to Klewenalp where the trail begins. Right at the top you’ll already find a playground and beautiful mountain views.

Both can be purchased at the gondola station before heading up.
The Trail
The trail follows a wide dirt path that is very manageable for beginner hikers and families.
Along the route you’ll find:
10 interactive puzzle stations
animal-themed activities
mountain play elements
panoramic viewpoints
alpine cows and flower-filled meadows in summer
Ending at Stockhütte
The trail finishes at Stockhütte. Here you'll find another large playground, a treetop path, picnic/fire pit area, mountain restaurant and beautiful open mountain views. You can either ride the gondola back down or, for older kids and adventurous adults, take the bike boards down the mountain.
