Situated south of Lake Tegernsee, Wallberg is a popular leisure mountain attracting paragliders, mountain bikers, skiers, and hikers. You can reach the summit either by a well-maintained hiking trail (easy but steep, around 1000 meters of altitude) or comfortably via gondola.
The main photo spot is right at the top station of the gondola on a plateau, offering a great view of the magnificent Holy Cross Church. From the church itself, you get expansive views of the Bavarian Prealps and the Karwendel mountains.
For those up for it, hiking to the actual summit of Wallberg is also possible and rewarding.
