Kiiskilänmäki Observation Tower – The High Point of Southern Finland (Literally!)

Our final stop in Multia was the Kiiskilänmäki Observation Tower — a wooden tower built in 2004, standing proudly on the highest point in Central and Southern Finland at 268.8 meters above sea level.

The tower itself was in excellent condition — solid, safe, and well built! Everyone loved it... well, everyone except mom, who’s not exactly a fan of heights. 😅

The view from the top? Let’s just say it was very Finnish: forest, forest, and... more forest. No matter which direction you looked, it was a sea of green trees as far as the eye could see. Still, it was a pretty impressive sight!

🏕️ More Than Just a Tower

At the base of the tower, there’s a kota (hut) and a lean-to shelter, perfect for resting or having a snack. There's also a 3 km nature trail starting from there — making this a great little destination for a half-day outing or a relaxed nature trip.

A quiet, beautiful spot that gives you a real sense of Finland’s vast natural landscape — even if it’s mostly just trees! 🌲
