Located at a very close distance from the Monastery of Chrysoskalitissa and the world famous Elafonissi lagoon, one can indulge in some authentic Cretan gastronomy in its purest form, in a wonderful setting under plane, mulberry, and pine trees.

A family-run taverna (you can literally see all three generations of the family just being around the taverna) with excellent food, cooked exactly the way they would do at home. In fact, the family eats the same food as you do, sitting at a table right next to yours. When I visited I tried the fried courgettes, the “kaltsounia” fried pies filled with mizithra cheese, the slow-cooked goat, the “xinotiri” creamy cheese. I totally recommend it.
