Mirador Río de las Vueltas is a short and easy walk from El Chaltén that leads to a stunning viewpoint over the winding, turquoise-colored Río de las Vueltas. Fed by glacial meltwater, the river snakes through the wide Patagonian valley with the dramatic backdrop of surrounding peaks, creating a scene that feels both vast and serene. The viewpoint is especially rewarding given the minimal effort required to reach it, making it accessible for families and casual walkers. On clear days, the contrasts between the bright river, rugged mountains, and expansive skies make this spot a favorite for photography and drone shots.
Be careful when the spot is windy and don't get close to the edges!
