Switzerland

One of the best things about traveling in Switzerland: the water quality is excellent almost everywhere.

🚰 In Switzerland, every public fountain is drinkable unless there is a sign saying “No Drinking Water / Kein Trinkwasser.”
So it’s basically the opposite of many other countries.

You’ll find fresh mountain water fountains in villages, cities, hiking trails and even train stations - perfect for refilling your bottle for free.

💡 Swiss tap water (“Hahnenwasser”) is also extremely clean and safe to drink.
The only exception: for preparing bottles for infants, it’s recommended to boil the water first.

💸 This can save you a lot of money while traveling in Switzerland.
We personally never buy water in shops.

🍽️ In many restaurants, you can also ask for tap water instead of bottled water to save money. Some places offer it for free, while others may charge a small service fee.

✨ The water quality in Switzerland is among the best in the world - fresh, clean and often coming directly from natural mountain sources.
