Misool has only a handful of accommodations, with one being super luxurious and the rest local guesthouses. We stayed at Yapap Guesthouse, which had the best reviews, location, and affordability at just $30 per person per night. This price included breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. The only drinks were for water and beer (extra).

At this guesthouse, you’re completely surrounded by water, close to stunning landscapes, and near the incredible Jellyfish Lake. The owner, his family, and the staff were incredibly kind. I especially appreciated how they reserved a private cabin for us on the ferry beforehand. From the moment they picked us up at the Misool harbor, everything was well-organized, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing.

The highlight of our stay was the daily tours, where we visited Misool’s most breathtaking spots—some I’d never even seen online! The tours are an additional cost and can be pricey due to the high gasoline prices in Raja Ampat. However, if you ask in advance, they can let you know how many other guests are staying so you can split the boat costs. This helps significantly. We paid $160 total as a couple for three days of tours ($480 for the entire boat), plus $20 each for the transfer from the harbor to the guesthouse ($60 for a round-trip transfer boat), as we shared the costs with three other families.
