🇧🇷 A aldeia de Álvaro já teve um papel bem importante para as ordens religiosas. Já existiu um castelo que pertenceu à Ordem de Malta, mas hoje em dia não há nem vestígio dele. Ela é uma das "aldeias brancas" que fazem parte da Rede das Aldeias do Xisto. As casinhas são feitas de xisto (um material local) e depois passam por um reboco e uma pintura branca.

O lugar oferece uma vista incrível para o Rio Zêzere, na represa do Cabril. E o que chama mais atenção é que a aldeia fica lá no alto, o que dá um charme todo especial.

Dentro da aldeia, tem uma lojinha da Rede Xisto. A Raquel é a funcionária super atenciosa que faz as visitas guiadas pela aldeia (e não custa nada, viu?).

📍A Igreja da Misericórdia, que é de 1597, abriga uma imagem do Senhor dos Passos. Lá dentro tem umas figuras religiosas bem interessantes e até um esqueleto na igreja, da pessoa que mandou construir o lugar. Ele fica coberto por um pedaço de madeira no chão. Já estamos avisando porque a Raquel pode perguntar se você quer ver (a Tietchan até ficou com medo😬).

📍A Igreja Matriz, que é antiga, lá do tempo medieval, foi toda reconstruída em 1920. E olha que tem um objeto bem bacana lá dentro, chamado Sacrário Renascentista.

📍Se você estiver com energia, pode dar um pulo na praia fuvial de Ávaro Albufeira do Zêzere. Lá dá para aproveitar a água, especialmente no verão. E tem uma estrutura boa montada para quem gosta de pular na água.

🇺🇸 The village of Álvaro once played a significant role for religious orders. There used to be a castle that belonged to the Order of Malta, but nowadays there's not even a trace of it. It's one of the "white villages" that are part of the Schist Villages Network. The little houses are built from schist (a local material) and then get a plastering and a coat of white paint.

The place offers an incredible view of the Zêzere River, at the Cabril Dam. And what's even more attention-grabbing is that the village is up on a hill, which adds a special kind of charm.

Within the village, there's a small shop from the Schist Network. Raquel is the super attentive staff member who conducts guided tours around the village (and it's totally free, by the way).

📍The Church of Mercy Igreja da Misericórdia, dating back to 1597, houses an image of the Senhor dos Passos. Inside, you'll find some really interesting religious figures and even a skeleton in the church, belonging to the person who had the place built. It's covered with a piece of wood on the floor. We're giving you a heads-up because Raquel might ask if you want to see it (even Tietchan got a bit scared 😬).

📍The Main Church Igreja Matriz, which has medieval origins, was completely reconstructed in 1920. And you know what? There's a really cool item inside called the Renaissance Tabernacle.

📍If you're up for it, you can head over to the Ávaro River Beach praia fuvial de ÁvaroZêzere Reservoir. There, you can enjoy the water, especially during the summer. And there's a great setup there for people to have a good time.
