The day: Three water wonders around Meiringen, your base for two nights. The Aare's turquoise gorge first, then the Sherlock-famous Reichenbach falls by funicular, then up the valley to the quieter Rosenlaui gorge. A combined Aare-and-Reichenbach ticket saves money.

The day: A pass-road adventure day from Meiringen. The near-vertical Gelmerbahn and the suspension bridge at its base, lunch up at the historic Grimsel hospiz, then the valley walk in to the big Trift bridge. Driving-rich but unforgettable.

Day 3
The day: Drive to Grindelwald, your base for two nights, for a full day on First. The cliff walk before the crowds, the hike out to Bachalpsee, then back down for the glacier gorge with its net walkway in the late afternoon.

The day: A waterfall day in Lauterbrunnen, 20 minutes from your Grindelwald base. Staubbach plunging off the cliff, then the thundering Trümmelbach falls hidden inside the mountain, then a slow wander along the valley floor.

The day: Move to Adelboden, your base for the final two nights, with two lakes on the way over. The tiny electric-blue Blausee first, then the famous Oeschinensee by gondola and an easy downhill walk to the shore.
