The Chamanna Georgy (3175m) is the highest mountain hut in Kanton Graubünden. It is easy to reach with the funicular from Punt Muragl or by taking the two-seater chairlift from Pontresina and with a short but steep hike. With 20 sleeping places available, it is great for family adventures and other group excursions. Booking the hut in advance is highly recommended.

HIKE DETAILS:

Start: Alp Languard (after taking the chairlift in Pontresina) Hiking distance to Chamanna Georgy is 4,3km to the hut with 860 meter elevation gain. Once at the hut highly recommended to hike up to Piz Languard for incredible views (both sunset and sunrise)

The hike to the hut can be doable as a day hike, sleeping there is not necessary but for the best experience I would recommend it.

My tips: Acclimatize before the hike to avoid terrible altitude sickness. Bring headlamp and warm clothes. Do not forget your camera. :)
