Tofino is the perfect place for a wildlife tour - misty mountains, sheltered ocean channels, wild headlands, lush temperate rainforest and the incredible wildlife that call it home.

Clayoquot Sound is rich with nourishment for black bears as well as other wildlife such as whales, sea otters, seals and bald eagles.

I've seen all of these animals on a Wildlife Safari tour with Nomad Adventure Guides, my favourite tour operator in the Tofino area. The tours are timed to coincide with when the local wildlife is most active. They use Zodiacs, which move faster than regular boats.

Nomad Adventure Guides is also the only Tofino operator that is a member of the Commercial Bear Viewing Association of British Columbia (CBVA). This reflects their high ethical standards and the equal care they take for both wild bears and their guests.
