Steigtinden is one of Bodøs most distinctive mountains. It’s located in Sjunkhatten national park. You can ascend to the top at 793 m.a.s.l, or simply enjoy the view from one of the nice spots at the foot of the mountain. We enjoyed a really nice scene at a small rest stop between Svartvatnet and Nordlivatnet. We found it only a short walk from the road.

I would recommend visiting at sunrise or sunset to get some great light. We went there at about 1-2 am in the summertime. At that time of year, we get midnight sun and you get the perfect lighting for hours. I would also recommend a windless night to get some gorgeous reflections in the water.
