If you have seen a Denmark Paragliding video you have most likely recognise Toftum. This site is pure magic, and a go-to on lighter days. Toftum or Humlum is situated inland roughly 25km from the coast at the end of a ‘Danish’ Fjord or inlet. The magic of this site comes from this passage of water funnelling the coastal wind straight onto the ridge. It handles wind directions from W to NNW, and is often flyable on the days with no wind thanks to the inland thermals that help suck the breeze off the water, it really is magic. I have flown Toftum a lot of days when there was no wind on the forecast.
Another great feature with Toftum is its size. Launch is roughly 30m and tapers off to the NE down to 2m. This holds a lot of wind strengths, and is often still flyable even on the strongest days. You can access the lower section to the North by road, also suitable for a sneaky free camp. Usually a great hangout in the car park or launch with some of the world's best pilots frequenting the area. Toilet on-site with water. Great sized store in the nearby town Humlum.
