This museum is based in Matakohe, Northland, and is a treasure trove of stories about the mighty kauri tree and the people who have shaped the region. OPEN HOURS:
The Kauri Museum is open daily from 9am to 5pm, every day of the year except Christmas Day. The Gumdigger's Cafe is open everyday from 10am-3pm. You are more than welcome to visit the Cafe and then return to the Museum.
