Planning your trip to Bali? Here's everything you'll need before you fly. I always recommend completing as much as possible online before your arrival. It'll makes the immigration process much smoother and helps you avoid long queues at the airport.
Before You Fly
â Passport
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival.
â Visa Most visitors will need a Visa on Arrival (VoA) or an Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA).
I highly recommend applying for the e-VoA online before your trip. It saves time after landing and lets you skip the visa payment queue at the airport.
The visa costs IDR 500,000 (28$), is valid for 30 days, and can be extended once for another 30 days if needed.
Apply online here
(Visa eligibility depends on your nationality, so be sure to check whether your country qualifies before applying. For more information Click here)
â Return or Onward Ticket Immigration may ask for proof that you'll be leaving Indonesia, so make sure you have a return or onward flight booked.
â Electronic Customs Declaration (ECD) Every traveler must complete the customs declaration before arriving or shortly after landing.
You can complete it here
Once submitted, you'll receive a QR codeâsave a screenshot on your phone to make the process quicker.
â Bali Tourist Levy International visitors are required to pay the Bali Tourist Levy of IDR 150,000.
I recommend paying online before your trip to avoid another queue at the airport.
Keep the payment confirmation on your phone, as it may be requested during your stay.
Staying Longer?
If you're planning to stay in Bali for more than 60 days, you'll need a different type of visa.
Popular options include:
Single Entry Visit Visa (extendable for longer stays)
Remote Worker or Business Visas
KITAS (temporary residence permit)
Visa regulations change regularly, so I always recommend checking the latest requirements on Indonesia's official immigration website or speaking with a trusted visa agency if you're planning an extended stay.
My Tip đ
I always recommend completing your visa application, tourist levy, and customs declaration online before you fly. It only takes a few minutes and can easily save you an hour or more after landingâmeaning you'll be enjoying Bali much sooner.
