Afognak Beach is a great place to go if you're looking to snag some red salmon during their run in Seward, usually around June. The parking lot has room for quite a few cars, and during low tide you might have to walk out on the mud flats to reach the tide where it's at. During high tide you can fish almost right next to the parking lot. If you don't want to fish, you can also just walk along the shoreline and enjoy the views. Typically parking will cost $5 per car for the day. (Make sure to be especially careful when walking on the mud flats during low tide to ensure you don't get stuck.)
