Rosenlaui Falls, located near Meiringen in Switzerland, is a stunning natural attraction formed by the meltwaters of the Rosenlaui Glacier. The glacier gorge and the world-famous Reichenbach Falls are both connected to this small but mighty glacier. You can explore the narrow ravine of the glacier gorge and marvel at the thunderous flow of water. The Reichenbach Falls, made famous by Sherlock Holmes, cascade down in seven tiers, with the highest tier standing at an impressive 120 metres. So cool! A visit here promises not just breathtaking beauty but a refreshing escape into nature's raw power.

📝What to Explore:

The Gorge Trail: Follow the secure path through the gorge to experience rushing waterfalls and sculpted rock formations up close. Don't miss the "Steinmanndli garden," a area near the exit where you can build stone towers.

The Surrounding Forests: After the gorge, take a leisurely descent through a serene forest trail back to the entrance. It’s a great way to unwind and reflect on the natural beauty you’ve witnessed.

☕️Café Schluchthüttli: Located near the entrance, this cosy spot offers drinks, snacks, and ice cream—a perfect way to recharge after your hike.

How to Get There

🚗By Car: From Meiringen, drive along Scheideggstrasse to Hotel Rosenlaui. Parking is available near the gorge. Note that the route between Grindelwald and Schwarzwaldalp is not open to private vehicles.

🚎By Public Transport: Take the PostBus from either Meiringen or Grindelwald to the “Gletscherschlucht Rosenlaui” stop.

🚲By Hiking or Biking: Adventurous visitors can hike or cycle to the gorge along portions of the Via Alpina trail, enjoying stunning alpine views along the way.
