The Kalbarri Loop Walk is an absolute gem and a must-do if you’re in the area, and not many people do it - so it's a bit of a hidden gem considering how popular Kalbarri NP is! It’s about an 8km circuit that takes 3-4 hours depending on your pace, and trust me, it’s best to tackle this one at sunrise. Not only is it cooler, but seeing Nature’s Window lit up by the first rays of the sun is pure magic. Plus, you’ll dodge the crowds, the flies, and the midday heat—win-win!
The walk itself is a beauty, winding through rugged gorges, rocky cliffs, and even sandy trails. The landscapes are so diverse, it’s like stepping into a different world every 15 minutes. There are a few steeper sections and rock scrambles, so wear good shoes and bring plenty of water—it’s the outback, after all.
If you’re short on time or just not up for the full loop, the Z Bend Walk is a great alternative and a bit easier to manage. Both are stunning, but the loop gives you a more immersive experience of the park.
Unfortunately, it’s not a pet-friendly trail, as it’s inside Kalbarri National Park. But for you and your mates, pack a picnic to enjoy after the hike—it’s such a rewarding way to finish.
