🌊 Yellow Glacier River Delta

🗺️ How to Get There:
From Route 1, turn onto Road  255 or Road 253 towards the ocean, you're aiming to reach the entrance to the Hallgeirsey farm. Make sure to park in a place where you don't bother upcoming cars and do not enter any private roads. The corner near the entrance to the farm provides the closest drone take-off point for accessing the delta. The river itself is not directly accessible by foot, the photography happens entirely from the air. This area is full of private farmlands. Be discreet and respectful. The farmer has been friendly when approached, but always fly responsibly.

Important: Do not fly over the cement building with the boats near the road. It belongs to a government facility and may be under surveillance, police have advised avoiding drone activity near or above it. Stick to the open delta area facing the ocean to avoid any issues.

📅 Best Time of the Year to Visit:
Best from late spring to early autumn, when river flow is rich with glacial meltwater and color is most vibrant, it's also very good in summer. Light winds and clear conditions are crucial, this spot is fully exposed to coastal gusts.

Best time of day:
Midday to afternoon provides ideal top-down light for capturing the glowing yellow hues and intricate braiding of the river. Avoid mornings when fog or low clouds often sit over the coast.

• ND filters to control exposure over reflective sand and water

• Extra batteries, flying from a distance reduces efficiency
