If you are visiting Akureyri and you want to go for a little walk, I can highly recommend walking trough the old town. If you start walking south from Hotel Akureyri, you will see all the old houses and some will have signs to give you some more historical background as well. Like Laxdalshús for example. The oldest house in Akureyri that was built in 1795.
