St. Henry’s Ecumenical Art Chapel is a truly unique and peaceful spot that blends art, architecture, and spirituality. Nestled in the quiet surroundings of Hirvensalo Island, this chapel stands out with its modern wooden design and warm, glowing interiors, it actually looks like an upside-down boat inside!

Even if you’re not into spirituality, it’s still such a special place to visit. The light filters beautifully through the wooden walls, creating a calm, cozy atmosphere that makes you want to just sit for a moment and breathe.

The chapel also hosts art exhibitions, concerts, and other small events throughout the year, adding a creative touch to the experience.

HOW TO GET THERE: The chapel is located about 6 km from Turku city centre. You can take bus 5 from Eerikinkatu, close to Turku’s market square and get off in Kakskerrantie. From there, you can either transfer to bus 52 or walk about 18 minutes to reach the chapel. If you’re driving, there’s a parking area right next to the chapel.

WHEN TO VISIT: It’s usually quiet during weekdays and mornings. The natural light inside is at its best around midday on sunny days.

COST: Admission is €7.50; students and seniors €5; children under 15 visit for free.
