Part of the Paris Opera (the primary opera and ballet company of France), this opera house is gorgeous (and was my favorite Paris building as a little girl because I dreamed of becoming a ballerina). It was founded in 1669 by Louis XIV! Check their offerings on the website if you like ballets or operas. (The Opéra Bastille is another opera house part of the Paris Opera company).
