The Windgällenhütte is a cozy mountain hut located in the stunning Maderanertal region. It's the perfect base for all sorts of alpine adventures, from hiking to climbing. The hut offers comfortable accommodation with spacious dormitories and smaller rooms, providing a total of 60 beds.

This hut is located on one of the most beautiful hiking trail I did in 2024, the Höhenweg Maderanertal.

HIKE DETAILS:

It starts at Bristen Talstation. You need to ride the cable car down to Golzern Bergstation. From here you have the sign called 590 Höhenweg Maderanertal pointing towards Windgällenhütte.

The hike is a loop trail, easily can be followed on Switzerland Mobility app. 16 km with 840 meters of elevation gain. It can take 5h 40 mins. I went after a rainy week and let me tell you the valley had more waterfalls than Lauterbrunnen.
