What you'll do
🇬🇧 Bosnia and Herzegovina is a pretty great winter sport destination – after all, it hosted the Olympic Winter Games in 1984! So if you are still looking for an alternative destination to the Austrian or Swiss Alps, this might be it! In this itinerary, I focused on Sarajevo and the surrounding Olympic Mountains, since they tend to be pretty snow-sure and the infrastructure and facilities are good.

Wenn du also noch auf der Suche nach einem alternativen Reiseziel zu den österreichischen oder Schweizer Alpen bist, könnte Bosnien das Richtige für dich sein! In diesem Reiseplan habe ich mich auf Sarajevo und die umliegenden olympischen Berge konzentriert, da sie ziemlich schneesicher sind und die Infrastruktur gut ist.
Day 1
🇬🇧 Right on your first day, you'll head up one of the Olympic mountains. You can rent a car for more flexibility, but many hotels also offer shuttle services if you don't feel up to driving in winter. The roads to the ski resorts are well maintained and gritted, so don't be shy! If you want to not only ski but also enjoy a bit of wellness, I can really recommend Hotel Monti, as their wellness area is super nice.
🇩🇪 Gleich am ersten Tag fährst du auf einen der olympischen Berge. Du kannst ein Auto mieten, um flexibler zu sein, viele Hotels bieten jedoch auch Shuttle Services an, falls du dir das Fahren im Winter nicht zutraust. Die Straßen zu den Ski Resorts sind aber gut ausgebaut und gestreut – also keine falsche Scheu! Wenn du nicht nur Ski fahren, sondern auch ein bisschen Wellness genießen willst, kann ich dir das Hotel Monti wirklich empfehlen, denn der Wellnessbereich ist super schön.

🇬🇧 During the 1984 Winter Olympics, Bjelašnica was used, among other things, for alpine skiing competitions. And even today, Bjelašnica is still a popular ski and recreation area! The mountain range is located southwest of Sarajevo and reaches a height of 2,067 meters at the highest peak.
You can stay in the ski town of Babin Do, there are plenty of apartments there, or book one of the hotels I have suggested.
Bjelašnica offers: 🔹 8 slopes: 1,600 meters black, 7,800 meters red , 4,850 meters blue) 🔸 5 children's slopes 🔹 5 ski lifts and 3 chair lifts 🔸 Night skiing
The cost of a day pass in the 22/23 season is 35 KM, for 3 days 95 KM and for 6 days 180 KM.

Und auch heute ist die Bjelašnica noch ein beliebtes Ski- und Naherholungsgebiet! Der Gebirgszug liegt südwestlich von Sarajevo und erreicht am höchsten Gipfel eine Höhe von 2.067 Metern.
Du kannst in der Ski-Stadt Babin Do unterkommen, dort gibt es zahlreiche Apartments oder eines der von mir vorgeschlagenen Hotels buchen.
