Mallorca isn’t just beaches – it’s also a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. From gentle coastal walks to challenging mountain trails, the island offers a wide variety of routes with breathtaking views, hidden gorges and quiet villages.
Puig Caragolí: A moderate to high difficulty hike in the Serra de Tramuntana, offering panoramic views of valleys and peaks. Duration: ~3–4 hours round trip. Best in spring, autumn or cooler winter days. Suitable for ages 10+ with good fitness.
Torrent de Pareis: One of Mallorca’s most famous and challenging hikes, passing through a dramatic gorge to the sea. Duration: ~3–5 hours one way, moderate to high activity. Best attempted with sturdy shoes and water; not recommended for very young children.
Sa Dragonera Island: Accessible only by boat from Sant Elm, Sa Dragonera has several scenic trails along cliffs and old watchtowers. Terrain is moderate; bring water and sunscreen. Sunrise and sunset are spectacular from the island.
El Calvari Chapel (Pollença): A short but steep hike up 365 steps, perfect for families and casual walkers. The reward is panoramic views over Pollença and the surrounding mountains.
Tips for Hiking in Mallorca:
Start early to avoid crowds and midday heat.
Bring sturdy shoes, water, sunscreen and snacks.
Check the weather before heading out; mountain trails can be slippery after rain.
Respect nature: stick to marked trails and don’t leave trash.
Some trails (Torrent de Pareis, Sa Dragonera) are better in spring or autumn when temperatures are cooler.
Hiking in Mallorca is a must for outdoor enthusiasts, combining physical activity with stunning views, local culture, and unforgettable photo opportunities.
