Review for Marco Secchi's Rexby Guide to Venice. If you are a keen photographer, looking for local advice on finding the best recommendations, authentic Venice photo locations and even resturants in Venice worth visiting, then look no further, Marco's guide is the best guide available. It is absolutely brilliant and he follows that up with personal advice tailored to your individual needs! Simply outstanding! and a real find. You have plenty of detail in this guide to find the best spots and Venice at its authentic best. Marco shares coordinates for each location and his own personal insight into each location and what makes it so special. As a photographer, this is the best guide I have ever seen and it will, without doubt, enrich your visit and help you see the real Venice, as locals see it. Highly recommended.

Marco’s guide to Venice, The Venice I See, is not only a great guide to finding beautiful, and sometimes overlooked, locations in Venice. It is also full of practical suggestions, such as what you might consider shooting in any particular location, which prime lenses you might want to use and why, elements you might use for foreground to frame shots, lighting conditions etc. You can dip in and use as much or as little as you want or need. There is so much there to enrich your experience and improve your photography while visiting this magical city. Highly recommended.

Brilliant personalised itinerary – absolutely recommend!

We booked Marco’s itinerary service through Rexby and honestly couldn’t have asked for more. From the moment we arrived in Venice, everything was smooth Marco even helped us sort out the water taxi and luggage situation at the hotel, which was a massive help after a long journey.

He created a 5-day itinerary tailored perfectly for both of us: I’m into photography and my wife loves local crafts and unique shops, and somehow he managed to balance the two effortlessly. I had early mornings in stunning light with quiet corners to photograph, while she explored hidden artisan studios, paper makers, and boutiques you’d never find on your own.

Each day felt thoughtfully planned but never rigid, Marco adapted things as we went based on the light, the weather, and our energy. It felt more like having a local friend guiding us than following a schedule.

If you're after something beyond the tourist checklist, personal, well-paced, and visually rich I can’t recommend this enough.

Marco’s Rexby guide helped me see Venice in a way I hadn’t before not through famous landmarks, but through the quiet beauty of its everyday life.

The guide leads you to beautiful, often overlooked parts of the city, places where locals still greet each other on the street, and time seems to move a little slower. It’s ideal for those who want to go beyond the surface and experience Venice with more depth and meaning.

What really stands out are the restaurant and café recommendations — thoughtful, genuine, and clearly based on real experience. It feels curated by someone who cares about quality and authenticity, not trends or gimmicks.

I felt more connected to the city thanks to this guide. It’s not about ticking off sights, it’s about discovering the soul of Venice, one walk at a time.

Review for Marco Secchi’s Rexby Guide to Venice:

If you’re passionate about photography, or simply love seeing places with fresh eyes, Marco’s Rexby guide to Venice is an absolute treasure.

What sets this guide apart is the level of detail. You’re not just told where to go — you’re given exact coordinates, the best time of day for light, and even suggestions for composition. For any visual storyteller, that’s gold. But even if you’re not a photographer, you’ll appreciate how this guide leads you to incredible sights most tourists never stumble upon.

From peaceful canals draped with laundry to architectural corners bursting with character, every location is chosen with intention. And unlike the usual list of “top 10” spots, this feels like a personal journey through Venice, one that’s rich in atmosphere, culture, and visual poetry.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to see more, feel more, and photograph better. Big Thanks Marco!

I recently had the chance to explore Marco Secchi’s Rexby guide to Venice — and I can honestly say it’s nothing like a typical travel guide. There are no so-called “secrets,” because Venice doesn’t hide — but Marco’s curated list takes you far beyond the standard tourist checklist.

What makes this guide exceptional is its depth. You’ll find cafés where Venetians actually go, restaurants that have stood the test of time and taste, and quiet corners that most visitors walk past without noticing. Marco doesn’t just tell you where to go — he shows you why it matters, and when the light hits just right for the perfect photograph.

As someone who’s taken one of Marco’s photography workshops, I knew to expect a unique perspective — but this guide genuinely surprised me with how thoughtful, honest, and beautifully designed it is. It feels like having a local friend walk you through the city they love.

If you want to see Venice differently — and not just through your lens — this is the guide to get!
