Tucked away in a protected nature reserve, Playa de Papagayo is one of those postcard-perfect coves you dream of. You'll find yourself in a stunning bay with golden sand and calm, emerald-green waters, sheltered by dramatic cliffs. It's a bit of an adventure to get here—expect a bumpy 15-minute drive on a dirt track, for which there's a small €3 entrance fee per car for the park's upkeep. From the car park, it's just a short walk and a descent down some steps to reach this little slice of paradise, perfect for a relaxing swim or snorkel.
