Plaza Grande is the historic, social, and cultural heart of downtown Mérida, Mexico, dating back to 1542. Measuring 200 by 200 meters, it is surrounded by key landmarks including the Catedral de San Ildefonso, the Palacio de Gobierno, and the Casa Montejo. The area hosts frequent cultural events and acts as a central hub for visitors. We'd recommend visiting in the evening as each night there was always something fun on, fireworks, dancing, light show etc.
