Step Into a Magical Snow Kingdom
If you’re looking for a true winter wonderland experience, Mont-Valin National Park is a must! This place is famous for its “snowy ghosts” — trees completely buried under thick layers of snow, transforming the forest into a surreal white world.
It’s an unforgettable adventure, but a bit far from Montréal, so it’s best to plan a 3-day trip to make the most of it and explore the region. The park’s access to the summit requires a special snow vehicle that must be booked months in advance (sometimes even a year ahead!) — so plan early or hope for a cancellation spot.
Once up there, you can join a free guided snowshoe tour offered by the park. While the old off-track routes through the enchanted forest are now restricted, the marked trails still offer a breathtaking experience surrounded by deep snow and silence.
The park also offers cozy chalets right inside the reserve — perfect for staying overnight and enjoying a cross-country ski session the next day. I highly recommend this activity to experience Québec’s wild winter. 🌲✨
