The Nevis Tree in New Zealand is a hidden gem that's gaining popularity for its iconic beauty. It's not easy to find, so you might miss it if you blink! Despite some windy weather affecting the reflection in the water, the tree still looks stunning against the backdrop of stunning skies and surrounding mountains.
To get to the Nevis Tree I would highly suggest a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The road is gravel and there are some steep hills in a couple of areas. The road is essentially an old route from Cromwell to Queenstown. There are still a few residents along the road but its very remote.
For photography I visited at sunset and although it was very windy, the light was beautiful. The small lake is just off the side of the road to your left, coming from the Cromwell end. You will need to cross a small flat(ish) area where there are a few rocks and then you'll get to the small lake.
