Confiserie Bachmann is THE Lucerne bakery & chocolate shop, a 4th generation family-business established in 1897. They pride themselves on using traditional recipes and methods as well as sourcing high-quality local ingredients whenever possible.
They have many locations in Lucerne, including two in the old town, a kiosk along the lake promenade, and in the train station.
Location: Schwanenplatz 7, 6004 Luzern (in old town)
Open: daily 7:00 - 19:00 / Sun from 9:30
Website: www.confiserie.ch
Their bakery has many tasty classic Swiss pastries and breads. We particularly like their apple strudel pastry and chocolate croissants. They also sell our favorite Butterzopf bread, which is traditional for Sundays in Switzerland.
They also sell many takeaway options like sandwiches and salads, a good place to stock up for a picnic.
This shop location showcases their chocolate, with a wide variety of pralines and truffles, including their signature Schutzengeli (aka guardian angel) chocolate truffles, served on little golden wings. Part of the proceeds from this chocolate go to a charity. We like Bachmann chocolate, but we prefer Max Chocolatier (also in Luzern).
