The human skulls taken from Pälkäne to Sweden over 150 years ago were returned and re-buried in the Pälkäne churchyard. A total of 82 skulls, mostly from Pälkäne, were part of the repatriation. The burial ceremony, attended by authorities and locals, took place at the ruined St Michael’s Church in Pälkäne. The rest of the skulls will be reburied near their original municipalities.
