Make the most out of early hours!
Start your days early to make the most of your time in the Rockies and avoid the crowds at popular spots like Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and Johnston Canyon. Early mornings offer easier parking, quieter trails, and softer lighting for photography—plus a better chance of spotting wildlife. Many iconic locations fill up by mid-morning in peak season, so hitting the road at sunrise not only helps you beat the rush but also gives you a more peaceful and rewarding experience in the parks.
When we travel in the Rockies, we try and make sure we're on the road by 8 am if possible!
