There are six exhibition halls in the Tokyo National Museum. The main building exhibits Japanese art, the Heiseikan exhibits Japanese archeology, the Toyokan exhibits Oriental art, and the Horyuji Treasure Gallery exhibits treasures donated to Horyuji Temple. In addition, there are special exhibitions, Hyokeikan, which serves as an event venue, and the Kuroda Memorial Hall, which exhibits the works of Western-style painter Seiki Kuroda, outside the premises.

The "Comprehensive Cultural Exhibition" at the Tokyo National Museum changes exhibits almost every week in one of the exhibition rooms. The number is about 300 times a year. This is a museum where you can discover something new every time you visit.

The Museum is open from 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Students gets discount so make sure to have your student card with you.
