Câmara de Lobos is a charming and historic fishing village situated just a few kilometers west of Funchal. Its iconic scene of brightly painted fishing boats bobbing in the harbor, surrounded by hillside homes, famously captivated Winston Churchill, who spent time here painting. It's a fantastic place to wander through narrow streets, watch the local fishermen, and soak in the authentic atmosphere. The village is also renowned for its fresh seafood and is a popular spot to try Espetada, a traditional Madeiran dish of succulent beef skewers grilled on a laurel stick, often served with Bolo do Caco bread.
