Achada do Teixeira is one of the main access points to Pico Ruivo, the highest peak in Madeira. Located on the north side of the island, it offers a shorter and easier hike to the summit compared to the famous ridge trail from Pico do Arieiro. The well‑marked path is about 3 km each way and rewards hikers with panoramic views of Madeira’s central mountains. It’s perfect for those who want to experience Pico Ruivo without committing to a full‑day trek.
