The Museo per la Memoria di Ustica in Bologna is a powerful tribute to the 81 victims of the tragic Ustica air disaster in 1980. Surrounding the reconstructed wreckage of the DC9 plane are installations by artist Christian Boltanski, creating a somber and reflective atmosphere. Visitors can see personal items of the victims collected in black boxes, symbolizing their presence and absence at the same time. Through this unique museum experience, the memory of the Ustica tragedy is preserved and honored, inviting visitors to contemplate the fragility of life and the impact of historical events.
