Kings Canyon is hands down our favourite hike in all of Australia! With its dramatic red rock formations and towering sandstone cliffs, it offers breathtaking views that light up on sunrise and are hard to forget.

We completed the Rim Walk, a challenging but rewarding trek that takes them around the canyon's edge, providing panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. Along the way, they can marvel at the lush Garden of Eden, a permanent waterhole surrounded by ancient cycads and vibrant flora.

The area is rich in Aboriginal culture, with local Indigenous stories and traditions woven into the landscape. Travelers can learn about the significance of the land and its history, adding depth to their visit.

Hike Details:

Distance: 6km Loop

Time: 3-4 hours

Start the hike about 30 minutes before sunrise to get the full experience of the sun lighting up the domes around you!

It is not dog friendly but they are allowed to stay in the carpark. Make sure it is not too hot though!
