Just 30 km out from Kalbarri town, Z-Bend delivers big gorge adventure with minimal effort. The lookout walk is a cruisy 1.2 km return, taking you to a killer view over the Murchison River and red rock cliffs. If you’re up for more, the Z-Bend River Trail (2.6 km return) drops you down into the gorge expect ladders, scrambles, and a proper adventure. Pack your bathers if the river’s flowing because it’s magic for a dip down there.

There are toilets and picnic tables at the carpark, and the trail is best tackled in the cooler months (spring’s primo with wildflowers). Bring plenty of water and good shoes. National Park entry fee applies, and mobile reception is patchy, so screenshot your maps. A must-do if you’re road-tripping WA’s Coral Coast.
